Help Siddala Athma Rao Fight Stage 4 Cancer

My name is Bhaskar and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my cousin, Siddala Radhika, who lives in India and is currently trying to save her father who is battling stage 4 cancer. Please help her out in any way you can. Thank you so much!

Here is the message from Radhika in her own words -

My name is Siddala Radhika. I am reaching out to share the story of my father Siddala Athma Rao, who is both a loving husband and father. He is currently facing an extremely challenging battle - at 71 years old, Siddala Athma Rao is fighting stage 4 lung cancer, which has sadly begun to spread to his liver and adrenal glands. This journey has been both physically and emotionally taxing for our family. He is currently on oral chemotherapy since his doctors have decided that his body is too weak to tolerate regular therapy. The cost we are facing for the treatment is terrifying, but we are determined to find a way to keep his treatment going.

This extremely troubling journey started in April 2024, when my father started developing a simple cough and chest congestion. We thought it was a regular seasonal flu and he started taking over-the-counter medicine. However, things soon escalated and the cough became persistent along with severe pain in his chest and difficulty while breathing. After consulting with his doctors and going through further diagnosis, we found out that there were some discrepancies in his CT (Computed Tomography). Later, these inconsistencies were diagnosed as lung cancer, and it we also found out that it had already spread to some of his other organs (Adrenal Glands and Liver). It was a big blow to the entire family since this news was a complete shock to all of us. He was completely normal before April, and was in perfectly good health prior to his diagnosis.

He is a great husband, an amazing father and a very loving grandfather. My father is the sole breadwinner of his family, making ends meet by driving an auto rickshaw. He has dedicated his entire life to supporting our family, including my mother, 68-year-old Siddala Aruna, who has had a paralyzed leg since birth due to polio. Together, they have faced many challenges, but their unwavering love and commitment to each other have always seen them through. My mother struggles to walk without a walker, and prior to the diagnosis my father would completely assist and care for her. My salary is unfortunately not enough to sustain both my family and my parents, along with the growing cost of my father’s medical expenses. As the medical costs continue to rise, and with my father’s ability to work greatly diminished due to his health, we find ourselves in urgent need of help. The financial burden of treatments, medications, and daily living expenses has become overwhelming, and we are reaching out to the community for support. At this time, we are still holding out hope that all his treatment will help him recover.

2. Daily Living Costs: Supporting my parents basic needs as my dad is unable to work.
