On Saturday August 24th, Melissa tried to wake Sid to go to Wyatt's soccer game and found him unresponsive. She called 911 and he went to the hospital in Santa Clara and found that he had a stroke. A scan revealed a clot in his head. He was transferred to Redwood City where they have a stroke center to have surgery to remove the clot.
Sunday he was able to open his eyes, make some gestures with his right hand and give Melissa's hand some squeezes, so we know he's still in there with us! Toward the evening he had some difficulty staying awake and had a drain put in his head to relieve some pressure in his brain. Unfortunately this didn't relieve enough pressure and he needed an additional surgery that night.
Currently (Monday) we are waiting for Sid to wake up but there is still some swelling in his brain. Melissa hasn't left his bedside and we are all praying for Sid to be with us again soon.
Sid has Basilar Artery Occulusion, and recovery will be a slow and long process. The money we are trying to raise will be used for all medical bills but also anything that Sid requires regarding his future such as rehab, care etc. This has been an emotional journey for everyone involved and will continue to be, so every donation that we receive is appreciated to help ease the financial worries. Thank you from the bottom of our heart and please squeeze your loved ones for us extra tight!
