Sid became a family friend after we met through our field church ministry, Foxhole, where he was someone we served. Recently, Sid suffered a stroke that left him unable to speak and partially paralyzed. While he still understands everything and tries to communicate, it’s a daily struggle for him to express his needs and connect with those around him. Despite these challenges, Sid continues to be unapologetically himself ; he continues to find ways to communicate and make us laugh, even when words fail him.
I am hoping to raise funds to purchase a Speech Generating Device in the form of an iPad for Sid. This device would allow him to communicate more directly with us, his friends, and the nurses who care for him in the nursing home. It would give Sid back a sense of independence and dignity, making it possible for him to share his thoughts, needs, and his sense of humor that has always brought joy to those around him.
Sid is a soul who always laughed in the face of adversity. I want to hear his jokes again so I can laugh with him. Everyone is worth hearing and everyone deserves a voice. Your support would mean the world to Sid and to all of us who care about him. Please consider helping us give Sid the gift of communication and connection once again.
