My name is Nicole. My dog, Sid, was just diagnosed with a malignant cancer called hemangiosarcoma. This cancer has been detected in a tumor on his side that has been spreading to other areas in his body. As surgery to remove the tumor was not recommended, the closest thing we can do to make him comfortable in this last year of his life is regular 3-week chemotherapy appointments. Sid has been the most important and loving thing in my life. We rescued him right before Covid, as his previous owner had surrendered him. He was so scared and nervous when we first got him, and he quickly became so comfortable and trusting. As much as I feel like I have taken care of him, I think he has been the one taking care of me. He has been there for everything; he is my best friend, and I can't picture life without him.
As a recent college graduate, the expenses for his chemotherapy are extremely expensive and extensive. Our whole goal is to make the last year of his life as comfortable as possible, and that includes trying to erase as many cancer cells as we can to slow the progression and spread of the cancer.
Any support and donations are extremely appreciated and helpful. All donations will be directly going toward his chemotherapy treatments.
