My mother was diagnosed with colon cancer this year on Mother’s Day. Throughout the last couple of months, the hospital and ambulance fees have stacked up. She has started chemotherapy and currently has to use a colostomy bag. All these finances would be manageable and I wouldn’t have to make this fundraiser if it wasn’t for this last problem. Earlier this year, my brother and her son, Abraham Cruz, was bailed out on bond because he promised my mother he would change his life around and work to pay off the bond. She accepted these terms along with her own, that he moves out of her place when it’s all paid off. Throughout her whole diagnosis and chemotherapy process he has used and manipulated her into believing he would change. As of last month, Abraham Cruz had gone missing and is off the grid. He was last seen leaving with a friend in a black truck which was later found abandoned in Oklahoma. It is clear to us he intends to avoid the bond/jail time and has left us with the financial and legal burden. Mind you he has done all this knowing my mother’s condition and how it could possibly affect her and her health. Now we have bondsmen coming to us to collect the bond and if we do not pay it fully by September 3rd, then they will take the deed to my mothers house and leave her to the streets. We are never really ones to ask for help, but in this situation it’s our last option. Anything that can be spared will be greatly appreciated.
