Help Shymaa and her children safely evacuate Gaza

Dearest friends,

I am urging you to support our efforts to get Shymaa and her children out of Gaza.

Shymaa and her husband have three children, Rama, 6, Sham, 7 and Misk, 2. The family are currently in Rafah, where they were forced to flee following the bombing of their home in Khan Younis refugee camp, but the situation in Rafah is exceptionally dangerous.

Both Rama and Misk have profound hearing loss, conditions which require continual medical care that they are unable to access given the complete obliteration of healthcare facilities across Gaza.

The family are trying to evacuate to Egypt, where they should find safety after months of continued bombs, displacement and starvation - and the medical attention they need.

All funds will go directly to Shymaa and her family to pay for the passage for them to get safely out of Gaza and provide support when they arrive in Egypt. I will be transferring the funds directly to the family. I know Shymaa through mutual friends who have done extensive work in Gaza, and Shymaa and I have been in touch directly a lot over the past months as the family have been trying to find safety.

In these final days of the holy month of Ramadan, I am hoping we can reach our target by Eid.
