Help Shyleen Get the Life-Saving Surgery She Urgently Needs
Donation protected
Shyleen is a bright and determined 17-year-old girl from Zimbabwe. In May 2024, she was diagnosed with a massive ovarian cyst measuring 26 cm x 35 cm x 34 cm, a condition that has turned her life upside down. The cyst is pressing against her internal organs, making it difficult for her to breathe, eat, or even move without intense pain. Shyleen urgently needs surgery to remove this cyst, and her life is at risk without it.
Although the Zimbabwean government’s welfare system has generously agreed to cover the cost of the surgery, they will not cover the expenses for essential blood transfusions or the medication she desperately needs. Shyleen is severely anaemic and will lose a significant amount of blood during the procedure, requiring at least two units of blood, which costs around USD 600. Her mother, the sole provider after Shyleen’s father passed away, cannot afford these additional costs.
We are urgently seeking to raise USD 1,000 to cover:
• Blood transfusions: USD 600
• Medication: USD 200
• Other critical medical expenses: USD 200
Shyleen has been offered a surgery date of Monday 13 October 2024 at Parirenyatwa General Hospital in Harare. If we cannot raise the funds by then, she has been given an alternative date of Monday 21 October 2024. She urgently needs your help to make it to the operating table.
Despite everything, Shyleen remains hopeful for a future where she can pursue her dream of finishing high school. But for now, she needs your help to survive this ordeal. Every dollar you donate will go directly towards the blood and medication that are vital for her surgery.
Please consider donating whatever you can, and share Shyleen’s story with your friends and family. Together, we can help this brave young girl get the life-saving care she urgently needs. We will provide regular updates on her progress so you can see the direct impact of your generosity.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
