Help Shukri Explore Public Health in The Dominican Republic

Hi, my name is Shukri Jama. I’m currently a junior at Roosevelt High School, and I plan to study abroad during the summer of 2025 in Santiago, Dominican Republic, for Leadership and Service in Public Health. I am sincerely grateful for this opportunity given to me by CIEE and for also offering me $4,005 in scholarship. Due to my financial circumstances, I won’t be able to pay the remaining $945 along with my plane ticket cost. This is an opportunity for me to branch out, get more active, and learn healthy habits that will help me create a better and healthier system for myself. Exploring the Dominican Republic is also an exciting opportunity for me since I've never been out of state. This experience will showcase my willingness to step out of my comfort zone and my commitment to personal and professional growth. I want to surround myself with new people, opportunities, experiences, and immerse myself in a new culture. Any donation, no matter how small is enough and greatly appreciated.
