We are fundraising for our friend who is hospitalized in Nigeria.

Shua is our beloved son, brother and friend. A talented filmmaker who dedicates his time to documenting real life in Nigeria. He is a passionate, kind and imaginative person who wants to impact people’s live positively with his work and share the true creativity of Nigeria and Africa with the world.

On Tuesday 15th September he was found to have organophosphate posioning, he was having a severe reaction to a household insecticide and was rushed to the closest hospital to his home. He required immediate treatment and could not be taken anywhere else in the time he had or doctors say he would have died.

The hospital is a private facility and under pressure his friends and family were able to find the fees to pay for his admittance into ICU and begin treatment.

He has now been on ventilation for 2 weeks but will soon be undergoing surgery to help with his breathing as ventilation is no longer safe. Though he is improving the rising costs jeopardises that progress. If he cannot continue his treatment he could face long term health issues which would stop him from functioning as normal.

We are raising funds to pay his outstanding bill and also to cover his transport and continued treatment at a more affordable hospital.

He is very close to his mother, as the oldest of three children, his younger sister and brother look up to him for support and guidance. This incident has put their whole lives on hold. They have really tried all that they can so as friends of Shua we are starting this gofundme to help them.
