Help SHU HOSA Help the SASS Raise $ to Make Masks

Seton Hall University’s chapter of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)- Future Health Professionals (FHP) is raising funds to donate to the Summit Area Sewing Squad (SASS). Right now, the SASS is making and supplying masks to area hospitals in need as a result of the coronavirus. Since their initial publicity on TapInto, the SASS has partnered with a team from Medtronic that covers surgeries at all of the major hospitals across NJ, NYC, Westchester, and Long Island. The team from Medtronic is ensuring that the masks are being delivered to healthcare professionals who are in the greatest crisis.

As of right now, the SASS has created over 3500 masks that have gone to: Mt. Sinai Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, Stony Brook University Hospital, Summit Police Department, Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, New York Police Department, Overlook Medical Center, Hackensack Meridian Health, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Clare’s Denville Hospital, Capital Health Medical Center, Hackettstown Medical Center, Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean Medical Center, Holy Name Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Morristown Medical Center, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and Good Samaritan Hospital.

The SASS needs our help to continue to produce masks that our first responders need to continue to protect themselves while combating the coronavirus. The national shortage of masks is making it difficult for healthcare providers to do so.

To help the SASS reach its goal to produce enough masks to help healthcare providers safely continue their laudable mission of treating and reducing the amount of COVID-19 cases, please donate to this GoFundMe. All funds received on this GoFundMe will go toward purchasing the necessary materials that the SASS needs to continue their production of masks.

Your donation will go a long way and help the SASS continue its mission to help First Responders save as many lives as they can. In addition, all donations made to the Summit Area Sewing Squad are tax-deductible, since they are partnered with the New Providence Lions Club, a non-profit tax-deductible organization. We are so grateful for all donations that we have received thus far and hope to reach our goal of $3,000.
