We are three students from the SHS Band, and we’re raising funds to purchase stand lights for our music program. During late-night rehearsals and football games, it becomes difficult for many band members to see their music clearly. This not only makes it harder to perform, but it also affects the energy and spirit of our group—especially during the final moments of football games, when the band’s enthusiasm can make a big difference for the team and the crowd.

We’ve noticed that when it gets dark, students in the bleachers struggle to play with the same excitement, and the football team feels the difference too. By providing stand lights, we hope to create a brighter environment that helps everyone perform at their best. The lights will not only make it easier to read music, but they’ll also boost morale and encourage students to put their hearts into every performance. This small change can have a big impact on the spirit of our school, both in the stands and on the field.

As our passionate music directors often remind us, SHS Band is built on the dedication of students and faculty, as well as the generosity of alumni, parents, and the Saratoga community.
