I came to the U.S. as a first‑generation immigrant student, balancing graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh with elite‑level training. Swimming has been my life since childhood, the discipline, the early mornings, the joy of a perfect turn.
In the weeks before Paris 2024, a hit‑and‑run changed everything. I woke up to tubes, monitors, and the kind of pain you measure in seconds. Doctors warned I might lose my leg. By grace and great medical care, I didn’t — but the road back is long and expensive: stem‑cell surgery, platelet‑rich plasma (PRP) injections, and months of physical therapy.
Because I couldn’t train or work, I lost sponsorships, scholarships, and tuition aid. I’m doing my best, but right now I’m struggling to cover even rent, food, and transportation to medical appointments. I’m asking for help so I can heal properly, finish my degree, and swim competitively again to go to LA Olympics 2028.
What your gift does: It turns a hospital discharge into a real recovery. It pays for surgery that protects my limb, PRP that accelerates healing, PT to rebuild strength, and basic living so I can focus on getting better.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for sharing. If you know me personally, you know I don’t give up. With your help, I won’t have to.
