Meet Shorty — the definition of resilience.

Shorty has survived the unthinkable and is still one of the sweetest, gentlest dogs you could meet.

He has:

• Been shot (bullet still lodged, fractured front leg)

• Been hit by a car (fractured femur)

• Been abandoned at Walmart for nearly 2 years

• Tested severely heartworm positive (so advanced that 2 snap tests were negative)

Despite his femur being stable, years of compensating have left Shorty painful, with a soft tissue injury, neck pain, and discomfort affecting both his body and behavior.

After working with Kristina from Boss Babes, we were referred to Heal Vet to evaluate his old injuries. Repeat X-rays confirmed what no one knew before — Shorty had been shot.

There is no rescue backing Shorty due to his medical and behavioral needs, so all care is out of pocket — but giving up on him is not an option.

Donation Goal: $3,500

Funds will help cover:

• Physical therapy & follow-up at Heal Vet

• Heartworm treatment

• Much-needed dental care

• Supplements & Assisi Loop for pain relief

• Continued behavioral support with Boss Babes

I met Shorty before Christmas 2024 while feeding dogs at Walmart. I caught his entire family — but Shorty stayed elusive. I fed him for months until he disappeared. When he reappeared in October, he ran straight up to me, tail wagging, like he remembered. I never stopped looking for him.

Shorty has survived being shot, hit by a car, abandoned, and forgotten. Please help me give him the chance to finally heal — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Donate, share, or send positive thoughts. Every bit helps.

Thank you for caring about Shorty
