My name is Shonda, and I’m reaching out for help for myself and my daughter. Earlier this year, my daughter’s father passed away, and since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to keep us going. I was working full-time as a security officer and babysitting on my days off,but things took a turn when my car broke down. I tried to keep working by borrowing my dad’s truck, but when he started having car trouble too, I had to return it. Without a way to get to my third-shift job, I started missing work and eventually lost my job.

After losing my job, I couldn’t pay our rent and we were made to move out of our home. Right now, my daughter and I are sleeping on the floor at my dad’s one-bedroom apartment. He’s only allowed to have us stay for 14 days, and we’ve already been here for a week. I have no money for a hotel or anywhere else to go, and I’m scared for what will happen when our time here runs out.

I’m asking for help so I can get a reliable car, find a new job, and secure a safe, warm place for my daughter and me to call home. Any support you can give would mean the world to us and help us get back on our feet.
