Hello everyone, my name is Fardeen and I am a Canadian citizen born and raised in Toronto, Ontario.

Although I am born and raised in Canada, my roots go back all the way to Pakistan, a country of thriving cultures and welcoming people.

I spent some time back in Pakistan, particularly in the city of Karachi where I met many loved ones. From this amazing gathering of loved ones, I saw one of my uncles who is known for his bravery strength and endurance in need for a new prosthetic leg.

The story of Shokat Ali Khan, my uncle, never fails to motivate me even though it is a very tragic one. In the years of his early life, working at a pizza shop, known to be one of the finest pizza makers of the restaurant, Shokat was shot in his upper leg from a robber when he refused to give him his phone. When Shokat was shot, he instantly hit the ground and rolled over in a pit where he saw his life coming to an end.

As he desperately waited for death to take over, a relieving alternative as he thought, God had different plans for him. The locals spotted him and immediately rushed him to the hospital, where his life was exchanged for a prosthetic leg.

This tragic incident however has not let Shokats brilliant character to dim, rather he is a figure who pushes himself till this day, willing to sacrifice every part of him in order to see his children grow with proper clean threads, and a fresh warm meal before them.

As of now, Shokat has owned quite a few prosthetic legs, some of which were not designed for him, but he never once complained of his state, rather he worked with what he got gratefully.

Seeing him in this state and at this age (early 50s), it aches my heart to see a man, a father, a son, a brother, and a husband who has given his everything, and chose life again, purely to live for his family, and provide for them with everything he can. Shokat has far more happiness to feel, and deserves much better in life.

For this, I decided to open a go fund me page and ask people all around the world to not only help improve his state, but to know about Shokat as a man of sacrifice and a hero for his family.

Every household has a hero figure, a person who is known to sacrifice themselves and ready to extent to extreme lengths in order to keep their loved ones healthy and warm, for Shokats family, it’s him. However this aging wolf is facing critical difficulty due to his inability to afford a new prosthetic leg for himself, and this is where we come in.

Seeing the life journey of Shokat shakes me to the core, and sometimes makes me realize how ungrateful I have been all my life. His story teaches me so much, and motivated me to share his journey to the rest of the world, and perhaps allow me to one day let Shokat know that there are so many people out there who know you, and support you from hundreds and thousands of miles away.

I ask everyone who comes across this page, regardless of whether you intend to support Shokat or not, to just take a few moments and take some insight from this man. Perhaps, just the way he motivated me to never stop hustling no matter what state am I in, his story can touch your heart too.
