On the 23/03/2021, a fire started by a wet futon destroyed everything I have ever owned, in regards to a home, instruments, clothes, computer and recording equipment.
My car and I only just escaped with a scorched rear as I watched helplessly my life go up in smoke while flooded in on a mountain.
You could say I died in that fire because I have nothing left from that past, nothing which I used to identify myself with. Physically I am ok, and my family was not there, except for some burns on my hand during the 4 am panic of watching my home dissolve.
Some of the things I lost :
- Laptop + all my backups
- 4 x Indian Slide Guitars + no crystal slides...
- 4 Tablas
- Tanpura
- Guitar
- Electric Slide
- 12 string guitar
- 4 x Shakuhachi flutes
- Genelic Monitor speakers
- Mics and all recording equipment
- 2 x Loop machines
- 2x Interfaces
- Solar System
- Hot Water System
- House structure
- Caravan
- All clothes / shoes
- All forms of Identification, passport etc.
- Wallet
- Saved cash from around the world
- Phone
- Video cameras, and more...
You could say this list is also for my own letting go process and I ask anyone reading this to reflect on how fragile everything truly is that you see around you.
It all happened in a moment during a time of a great creativity and musical focus. It was an instant reset with nothing left from that fire. The irony was it was supposed to be flooding.
The other funny thing was I was backing up all my latest music before the fire took off recording some fresh new tracks and feeling it was a good time to save everything.
The fire left nothing...
I was planning to release Patreon to the world this week for support, so I will share the link if anyone feels obliged.
I do not know what is the right thing to do and do not know if this system will work now I have lost my laptop etc., but I feel I am now an empty canvas seeking your help to find again my musical colours...
