My name is Brian Merriam. I'm an artist and photographer based in Los Angeles. Nepal is a place I have spent a great deal of time. It is very near and dear to my heart. My friends there are like family to me. By now you are probably aware of the catastrophic floods that recently took place in Nepal. I'm organizing this gofundme on behalf of my Nepali friends, to help bring some relief to the family of a close friend and coworker of theirs, who was tragically lost in the flood.

We are Nepal One Adventure Team

We are writing this with a very heavy heart to ask for your support for the family of ours dear friend and colleague, Shishir Tamang.

Shishir was a hardworking, kind, and responsible person who worked with us in the trekking industry. He was not only our friend and colleague, but also the main provider for his entire family.

Tragically, during the recent devastating floods in Nepal, we lost Shishir. His sudden loss has left his family facing an unimaginable situation.

Shishir was the only person earning for his family. He was responsible for supporting his wife, his two young sons, and his elderly father and mother. His family is from Dhading, Nepal.

Shishir’s Family

• Wife: Kumari Tamang — 30 years old

• Son: Jenish Tamang — 7 years old

• Son: Jemse Tamang — 5 years old

• Elderly father and mother, who were also dependent on Shishir

His two young sons have now lost their father at such a young age, and his wife has suddenly been left with the responsibility of raising their children without the person who supported the family.

For this family, Shishir’s loss is not only a heartbreaking tragedy but also a serious financial challenge. They have lost the person who provided for their daily needs, their children’s education, food, housing, and their future.

We are therefore coming together as his friends, colleagues, and members of the trekking community to raise funds for his family.

Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference. The funds raised will be used to support Kumari, Jenish, Jemse, and Shishir’s elderly parents with their immediate needs and help provide some financial security for the children as they grow up.

Shishir spent his life working hard to take care of the people he loved. Now, it is our turn to stand beside his family.
