On July 17, 2025, just days before her 59th birthday, my aunty Shirley Jackson (Shirley Thomas) suffered two major ischemic strokes within 10 hours. The strokes damaged the right side of her brain, leaving her paralyzed on the left side and causing vision loss in her left eye.

Shirley spent 17+ years as a CNA, caring for others with love and dedication. She worked her whole life, paid her insurance every month, and always showed up for anyone in need.

Now, she’s the one who needs help.

  She can’t work

  She needs physical therapy to regain movement
  She’s currently in a nursing facility
