Thank you all so much! Remember first and foremost pray for Shirley and her healing and for Jim as he walks beside her supporting her, working and I’m sure worrying about it all. They are amazing !!

LETS FINISH THIS STRONG ❤️

Shirley Meagher is that lady that you meet somewhere and you just know that you want to call her friend. I learned this years back, but I felt a little sad as I was not a part of the forum that I met her through. Quickly, I learned that did not matter; she finds the good in each person she meets, and she always meets them right where they are in life.

I have never heard her speak an ill word about anyone. This impressed me. She has always been so full of zest for life. She loves her family and those that have become her family. Shirley has been very instrumental in the last few years of my life and my journey. I don't know that I would be where I am today in the journey I have been on had I not moved close to her.

Like myself, I know that many of you have similar stories for different journeys. She makes you feel like you are the most important friend she has. I have heard many stories shared and I know there are many more out there. She has been an amazing friend to all of us in one way or another when we have needed her.

This brings me to why I am here asking for all of us to step up to the plate and take the opportunity to help her.

Last May, Shirley faced a surgery that none of us would ever want to face. She did it with grace, bravery, and so much dignity. Not many know the path she and her husband have been on since then. When asked how she is, Shirley, not wanting to draw any attention to herself, simply responds, "I'm okay." Well, she is okay, but not as okay as we all want to see her be.

Shirley is on a journey that is very frustrating and hard. She has had to conquer many mountains and daily chores that we all take for granted. Just getting out of bed some days can be difficult at best, but of course, she does it. She doesn’t complain. A lot of her friends don't really know the pain and struggle that she goes through each and every day.

Shirley is making great strides and tries every single day to be better. At this time, we have learned that a “service” dog could really be of great benefit to her rehabilitation in this journey.

We have been working very closely with a lady who raises these dogs, and they come already trained in many ways and ready to start helping Shirley to further her rehabilitation and getting her back to the lady we all once knew. We love her no matter what or where she is in this journey, and this is one way that we can all show her!

It is our turn to make this happen.
Shirley is not working at this time, nor does it appear that she will be returning to work anytime soon, which obviously can put a strain on finances. Her hubby Jim is a rockstar. I am so blessed that I have gotten to watch him with her when he is home from his job. As most of us know, he works out of town and this “service dog” can also provide much comfort and company while he is working away from home.

There is no amount too small and every penny will be a blessing to this gift we hope to bring home to Shirley to help her on this journey she is on. Please first be in prayer for her full recovery and restoration of complete health and pray for all blessings over her body and especially her brain. Second, if you find it in your heart to help us to get this dog home to her, we appreciate whatever you can help.

I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for helping to make this happen. This couple has given from their hearts more than I can even share, never asking for anything in return or recognition.

I know I personally have been blessed by having them in my corner for the last few years.

Let’s do this, friends. If any of you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, Jamee Baker - [email redacted].

Please do not inundate Shirley with calls and texts as that is one of the things that she really has a hard time with, unfortunately!

Thanking you all ahead of time for your prayers, blessings, and the gifts and help this will bring our friend.
❤️
