Help Shirley Fight Leukemia and Support Her 3 Children
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Shirley Ulloa. I’m 35 years old and have been diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).
In November 2024, I began feeling unusually sick—persistent cold symptoms, a bad cough, and intense headaches that just wouldn’t go away. I tried everything: home remedies, over-the-counter medicines—hoping it was something minor. But as the weeks passed through November and December, my symptoms only worsened.
I visited urgent care and multiple hospitals, where I was repeatedly prescribed antibiotics, but still had no answers. It wasn’t until I went to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital on January 18, 2025 that I finally insisted, “Please find out what’s really wrong. This isn’t normal.” After about five hours in the emergency room, I was given devastating news: I had cancer in my blood.
At that moment, my world collapsed. All I could think about were my children, my family, and how everything was about to change.
Since then, I’ve begun chemotherapy—one of the hardest journeys of my life, both physically and emotionally. I’ve lost my job because the illness and monthly hospital stays have made it impossible to work. Our financial situation has become overwhelming, and providing for my children has been incredibly difficult.
Now, I am preparing for a bone marrow transplant on July 8th, a critical step in my fight for survival and recovery.
I’m humbly asking for your support. Any donation—no matter the amount—will help us keep a roof over our heads, cover basic living expenses, and support my children as we navigate this unimaginable journey.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, and thank you for standing with us during this fight. ❤️
