Hey yall, my name is Dana and I am making this for my Memaw and granddaddy. If you know my Memaw you know she would do everything they could to not ask for anything. My Memaw has been dealing with a bacterial infection called Non-tuberculosis mycobacteria that is an infection in her lungs. Most of you know she’s had health problems for years including being celiac and highly allergic to gluten. And she had an extremely massive brain tumor removed in 2007 that caused paralysis in her face and neck, most importantly her vocal cords. Because of this she is unable to eat certain foods and really struggles to get meals down. She is being put on a strict puree diet because she has gotten down to an extremely unhealthy weight.

For the treatment for the infection she is going to be required to come home with a pic line and a power port to have antibodies and other medications administered daily.

My grandparents live on a fixed income and are both disabled. This treatment is going to require they pay with insurance covering their part, over $650 A MONTH extra for this treatment that will be administered for 6 months to a year possibly. We as a family are going to have to come together and help as much as we can but we are far from rich. My Grandpa has figured out their bills and they are going to have just under $200 left after their bills for food and gas for Dr appointments and anything extra that may come up to pay for this treatment.

Im asking for a helping hand from our community who some are familiar with them and some are not. Shirley and John Swinson are their names and they would appreciate even the smallest donations. Myself, my sisters, my aunt and mom are going to try to meal prep meals for my granddaddy to make easily and meals that can be pureed for my grandma. Less than $200 a month just isn’t gonna cut it to survive on.
