As some of you may already know, Shira, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This aggressive disease has turned everyone’s life upside down. Despite the fear and uncertainty, she is meeting this challenge with courage, hope, and determination.

As Shira begins chemotherapy and radiation treatments in preparation for surgery, there are and will be many expenses that insurance simply does not cover. There will be countless out-of-pocket costs to ensure that Shira and her family will be as comfortable as possible during this time.

She is currently undergoing an aggressive treatment plan, taking a harsh combination of three chemotherapy drugs over long periods of time. Cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation can cause extreme fatigue, nausea, and pain, making it difficult to leave the house even for short periods. Simple activities such as running errands or attending appointments can become physically exhausting.
