Help S.H.I.P. recover from flooding
I am Nadine, a volunteer for S.H.I.P. for over 20 years. I am local to the Somerville area, raising money to benefit Samaritan Homeless Interim Program which was effected by Hurricane Ida flooding. Any donation will help make an impact.
SHIP has been an integral part of our community (serving Somerset County and surrounding areas) since 1984, serving to date over 150,000 clients and provided over 100,000 meals, along with counseling and support provided to those individuals and families who are homeless or in imminent danger of becoming homeless. They provide lunch 3x a week at St.Johns Episcopal Church and their mobile food truck feeds the hungry 5 nights a week. They were immediately at the 9/11 site in NYC feeding the police/firefighters/rescue personnel and have been providing food to the community at every disaster event in our community.
Their office which housed their drop in food pantry, food used for lunches and dinners, as well as their headquarters was devastated during the recent flooding from Ida. They lost all their food supplies and ready made meals for the food truck, along with toiletries, clothing and office supplies and just about everything they use to operate. They operate solely on donations and the kindness of the community they serve. Please donate any amount, no matter how small. These funds will be used to restore their operations and replenish food supplies & basic necessities so they can directly give back and help our community in need.
SHIP is a registered 501c3 charity
