Help Shiloh the Dog Fight Cancer

Hi, my name is Mary Lynn, I’m starting a GoFundMe for my Best Friends the Caponigro family ~ especially for Shiloh their dog! Their baby Shy!

They adopted him at 8 weeks old with his bio sister from Wright Way rescue in Morton Grove. They were the only 2 in the litter. They fell in love with him from first glance on the web page due to him looking like the pokey little puppy ~ Chara’s favorite childhood book. Her hubby said no, but talked him into going to see him. Well they went home with him and 2 days later they went back for his sister because they have a history of adopting bio siblings.

2 -3 months ago Shiloh hurt his paw running and acting goofy as he normally does. Didnt think anything about it. Only he wasn't healing. So they thought he tore something.

They took him to the vet for an xray. Vet said the shoulder didn't look good. Thought he may have a hereditary issue. They were sent to an orthopedic in indiana. They did a bone biopsy the same day. Came back 10 days later. No cancer and bone modeling, no bacterial or fungal infection but it did show cellulitis. Ortho said keep him on pain meds for another month and repeat the xrays. That’s what they did.

Vet said xrays look worse and its spreading down the leg towards the elbow. Vet tells them that it looks like osteo sarcoma but needs to see an oncologist. So they did. He said he does not like how it looks as well. He needs at ct scan, ultrasound and blood work on Friday, If the cancer has not metastasized they will do a rt front leg amputation. They said they will send the entire leg for pathology, then they will tell them what cocktail of chemotherapy he needs, if any. They said more than likely he will need it. His life expectancy is 2-4 months with out surgery. 12-18+ month with surgery. His age helps him to be able to bouce back from the amputation and hopefully it’s only in his leg.

They feed Shiloh organic food since he's been a pup-per. He eats veggies, fruits, coconut oil. Dr said he is just unlucky.

Shiloh loves to run and fight with his sister Freya. He loves the hose and swimming. His favorite pastime is playing with plastic bottles and jugs. Shiloh is a very energetic dog to say the least. He is the most lovable and cuddly dog as well. He thinks he's a lap dog at 80lbs. He very vocal and mischievous. That is the Husky and Boxer in him.

Cost as far as they know will be $6 ~ $10,000!
