Hi everyone,

My name is Shilela, and I’m reaching out for a bit of support during an unexpected financial pinch while I’m living in Vietnam. I recently relocated here to begin a new chapter — teaching English and exploring life abroad with openness and courage. This was meant to be a leap toward stability, growth, and purpose - and I trust that it will be.

While I managed to sustain myself for a month while completing an in person TESOL qualification, which I diligently saved for, I find myself myself in a liminal space. Unfortunately, a few unforeseen costs — including visa extensions and processes, housing deposits, and health-related expenses — have left me in a tough spot. While I am actively in the process of getting a job and am confident that I will soon be earning an income, I’m currently navigating the space between now and my first paycheck with very limited resources.

This is temporary — I’m not asking for a way out, just a hand to hold as I make it through this short but challenging stretch. I had prepared as much as I could before leaving South Africa, but I find myself in need of assistance.
