Help Devaditya (Rishi) Save for College
Donation protected
“There is no greater need in childhood than the protection of a father.”… However, COVID 19 has snatched that precious protection from Devaditya's (Rishi's) life, who is just three years old.
Before his dad, Shiladitya Dasgupta went to the hospital to breathe his last, he was tending to his toddler son’s needs since his mother too was running a high temperature due to COVID-19. Three-year-old Rishi, unfortunately, will never get to know his father’s love nor his protection. Rishi still cannot fathom why his "Papa" has not returned from the hospital.
Shiladitya Dasgupta lost his life at the age of 45 leaving behind his elderly parents, wife, and Rishi. Shiladitya was an only child, a responsible son to his parents, a doting father, and a loving husband. He was the primary bread earner in the family. This is yet another incident where COVID -19 has devastated the life of a young happy family.
Compassion is not just an emotional response, but a firm commitment founded on reason. Therefore, the family has opened this fund to raise proceeds to pay for Rishi’s future education in the absence of his father. As we all realize investing in Rishi’s education will strengthen his future.
Compassion lets us develop a feeling of responsibility for others: the wish to give others the strength to overcome their problems. We hope you will find compassion within your heart today that will evolve into a stronger tomorrow for Rishi.
An Update : Shiladitya’s father succumbed to COVID on the 19th of April 2021 . COVID is a beast----It destroys a family within days, it does not give us any time to recoup . Within ten days, the family lost two members; Shiladitya (Butch) who was 45 and his dad (our uncle) who was 78. Our uncle had taken his first shot of “Covieshield” vaccination but that did not save him. Our aunt admitted her husband to the hospital and then completed her son’s “funeral”. At this point, she too is fighting COVID. Life it seems is balanced on thinnest of thin lines . Truth is--- Nothing in living is guaranteed.
