Help Shianne Get Life-Saving Treatment in Denver
Donation protected
Hi friends and family... we're back and so is Shianne's Hodgkin's Lymphoma! In all actuality she was probably never in remission since it appeared again on PET so soon and blood cancer cells can hide so well. This time around she is having a treatment that is specifically targeted to her type of cancer and is MORE effective than the treatment she had previously. Everybody asks why she couldn't have had this treatment first? Well because it's not first-line therapy for her diagnosis. And insurance companies rule the medical world, not the doctors. Sorry for a bit of bitter sarcasm there but I've earned it. The biggest expense this time will be multiple trips to Denver for a stem cell transplant. For many reasons these trips must be done via flight vs driving. The first trip is November 13 for three days and has been covered by a donation from the Chase Hawks Memorial Foundation and Grandma Noreen Click. This will be for the initial workup to see if she is a candidate for the transplant and to present the information to God aka insurance for approval. Which by the way, she lost her Medicaid because she makes $1000 too much per year on disability. More bitter sarcasm. I was able to add her to my insurance because she is on disability and lives with me but there will be copays and who knows how much out of pocket?! The final stay in Denver will be no less than a month. Someone from my company graciously donated a week of paid time off to me so I should have about two weeks worth by the time this occurs. Things are adding up way more quickly this time and we need and pray for financial support. Thank you so much for everything that any of you did in the last year including your cards, meals, snow plowing, prayers, and positive energy. I might add that Miss Shianne is so much more optimistic this time around, checks her attitude and energy, grounds herself, amazing self-care...she is going to beat this! With so much love from her Mama.
