Help Shi Kui (Jackie) Fight Terminal Brain Cancer

My younger brother Shi Kui Chung, or Jackie or Jackson, was diagnosed with one of the most aggressive forms of malignancy brain tumors, called Glioblastoma. He is currently 29 years old.

He underwent awake-craniotomy on the 5th of December 2022 and was lucky to come away with most of his brain function still intact.

The tumor has meant he now struggles with difficulties such as:
  • word processing and comprehension
  • the ability to calculate and process numbers
  • short term working memory
  • peripheral vision loss
  • he is also at high risk of losing his functional ability in his right arm and leg due to the proximity of the tumor to associated areas of the brain

His prognosis is expected to be very poor (1 year) with the standard cancer treatment. We are hoping to get him enrolled in clinical trials.

To enroll in clinical trials, we will likely need to assess his brain tumor samples from his initial surgery clinically. We are asking for funding to enroll him in the clinical trials and because of the palliative (end of life) care he will likely need due to his disabilities.

Shi Kui is a professional Fashion Designer Director from the UK, initially working for Boy London. His ambitions led him to move to China on a working visa to work in Boy London and several other companies such as FILA and start-ups. He helped to bring many ideas to life.

He is also the sweetest sibling and family member.
Shi Kui's dad is a stroke survivor and dependent. His mother may likely have to care for them both alone, which will be a challenge.
Your contribution will help ensure there can be extra help when there is a need for an additional carer.

Your donation will help massively in the following:
  • MGS genome sequencing
  • Hospital stay costs
  • Immediate flight back to the UK
  • Travel costs to and from the hospital for chemotherapy, radiotherapy, clinical trial participation, etc.
  • Palliative care
  • Any additional treatments he may have towards improving his prognosis

***UPDATE - 14 DEC 2022***
Shikui suffered a seizure while in bed. An ambulance was called, and he was swiftly taken to A&E. He is ok, Staying strong, STILL FIGHTING.
We are still waiting for the air pocket inside his skull to dissipate so he can return to the UK.
