Help Sheva and Family Pay for Surgery

My name is Sheva - I am a marathon runner and C-Section warrior mom of 4. For the past few years, I have been having severe stomach pain and nausea that couldn't be explained and severe back pain that would sometimes require me to stay in bed and not move for a few days.

After doing test after test, rounds of doctor visits, and physical therapy that went nowhere, I was diagnosed with severe diastasis recti (which is a separation of the stomach muscles) as well as a hernia. Because of the diastasis, my body has been relying on the muscles in my lower back since my core muscles can not be engaged.

I have gone to expert after expert, doctors, and surgeons, and was told that the only way to fix this was with surgery.

However, even though I have private medical insurance as well as medical insurance from the state of Israel - the surgery is considered "cosmetic" and is not covered. It doesn't matter that this is a condition that is causing me pain or that I have letters from multiple surgeons stating that this is a severe case that can't be fixed any other way aside from surgery or that doctors are saying that surgery would fix the problems and improve life in general - It won't be covered.

The surgery would not only repair my badly damaged core muscles but would also fix the damage done to my body from the 3 C-Sections I had.

My family is already struggling to pay off debt left from former business partners, and I was suddenly let go from my full-time job. I am therefore trying to raise the money with the hope that I can get the surgery I need without hurting my family with the price of my health. All funds raised will go directly to paying for the surgery which is scheduled for October 31.

I have never done this before so I feel kind of weird asking for help - but I figured my health and overall wellness was something worth fighting for and important enough to ask for help.
