Hi, my name is Sarenitie.
Some of you know me, some of you don’t, for those who don’t; I would like to share something deeply personal.
I was adopted. My biological parents struggled with addiction and without the people who took me in, I truly don’t know where my life would have led.
My mom and dad; Sheryl and Lonnie gave me the kind of life every child deserves. They showed me what a real family feels like, what unconditional love looks like, and Lonnie is the hardest working man I’ve ever known.
Lonnie has spent his life providing for four children who weren’t biologically his; not because he had to, but because he wanted to. Sheryl took care of all of us with endless love, patience, and selflessness. They didn’t just raise us, they saved us.
A little over a year ago, my mom suffered a severe fall that put her in the hospital fighting for her life.
She had multiple surgeries due to her severe head trauma, a fracture in her skull, shattered humerus, femur that was broken in three places and she never truly healed.
The fall happened at someone else’s home, but they refused to file an insurance claim. My mom didn’t have insurance of her own and because of that, she hasn’t been able to get the medical care she desperately needs.
As a result; she is now facing over $300,000 in medical debt and is currently being sued.
My parents who have worked their entire lives, who have never asked for anything, are now at risk of losing their home. The home they poured their hearts, sweat, and years into building.
My mom would probably be upset with me for sharing this and it’s hard for me to speak on, as we have never been those who ask for help. I never imagined I would be doing this, but I can’t sit by idly and watch the people who saved my life lose everything they have worked their entire lives for.
I’m asking our community to come together for two people who would give the shirt off their backs to anyone; family, friend, or stranger. They took me out of foster care and gave me a future. All I want now is to help save their home.
Any support whether it’s a donation, share, or a prayer means more than I can put into words.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this and for helping in any way you can.
