My name is Evan Wilson and I am attempting to raise money for the costs of my mother's medical treatment. Sherry Wilson is 58 years young! She was diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. They found tumors in her left lung, windpipe, as well as heavily in her left shoulder. The bone has deteriorated 50%, and is heavily distributed in her blood.
She is a God-fearing single mother of two boys who has worked her whole life. She grew up poor and fought to make a better life for my brother and I. She struggled her whole life, and has fought through so many tragedies.. but no matter the storms life brought, she was the rock that held everyone around her steady. She loves so relentlessly, so selflessly, and cares so deep for the people around her.
Unfortunately, life has produced yet another storm, and this time she won't fight it alone.. but a lot of fighting is required. My mother Sherry Wilson is starting with 10 treatments of radiation, as well as she begins her rounds of chemotherapy soon. She is also going to receive immunotherapy in the hopes it will provide more benefits, but before that she requires dental work and approval as she has low bone density.
During this time, she has been dealing with a lot of pain in her left shoulder, and as the requirements stack up the lack of medical insurance is starting to play a bigger and bigger toll. She is unable to work due to the pain and has had to take leave from her work as she begins treatment.
I have never been the one to ask for anything. I have always been the problem solver of my family, and this simply is not a problem I can solve alone. I love my mother. There are a lack of words that genuinely illustrate just how important she is to me, to my family, to our local community, and the world. She has spent her whole life helping others, and has found herself in a helpless situation.
I will do anything I can to help her, and as such I am asking anyone who reads this to please consider sending her encouraging/supportive messages, as well as any donations of any amount to help her get the medical treatment she desperately needs.
