Sherry (Snell) Smallwood was never able to have her own kids, however she is known in the LC Valley to many as being a second mom to many kids, whether it was from headstart, the Lewiston school district, or the nursery at church. Sherry is also the most postive upbeat person I’ve ever met. She’s never afraid to offer help to those she is surrounded around. Over the last 13 years I’ve known her she has sacrificed whatever she can to help those around her.

Over 1 year ago, Sherry began to have many different health concerns surface. She ended up in the ER, almost becoming Septic, with an infections. Scans later showed she had a mass in her uterus that she would need surgery for. May 31, Sherry had a full hysterectomy and also some complications that caused some of her bowel to be removed. She spent 5 days in the hospital recovering and then came back home with her husband Rob. 2 weeks after her surgery she suffered some very significant complications that brought her back to Spokane and had emergency surgery on 06/16. Sherry has been diagnosed with a fast spreading endometrial adenocarcinoma stage 3C. When they did the surgery yesterday, the surgeon encountered more complications and found more tumors that grew in the last two weeks. She is going to need at least 5 months of chemo and many trips to Seattle for treatment. The bills have already started accumulating, she isn’t able to work right now, and Rob has no more PTO. Any little bit helps them with all these added costs.
