My name is Sherrie, and I am asking for help for myself and Toby as we fight to recover from one heartbreaking setback after another. In 2024, Toby lost his job, and soon after, he was diagnosed with diabetes. While we were trying to adjust to that news, Toby began calling our creditors to make payment arrangements. When he contacted the HOA to offer a $50 payment, he was told the account had already been sent to an attorney. We later learned a lien had been placed on our home over a debt of $877.72. Even when Toby tried again and offered $200 a month, the payment was denied. In the middle of all of this, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts. I began treatment, and I am doing well today, but the emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming.

In June 2026, our home was sold at a Sheriff’s sale to the HOA attorney for around $8,000. We have filed paperwork for a stay on the sale, and we are holding on to hope that we may still have a chance to buy our home back. We are asking for support to help us with the urgent costs of this fight and with our immediate needs during this incredibly difficult time.
