My name is Trena. I am writing this with a heavy heart. Doug was my best friend - truly one of the kindest, funniest, most genuine people I have ever known.

In early July, Doug was hospitalized in Kalamazoo, where he faced a series of painful, complex medical challenges. His foot was amputated in an attempt to save his life, but his health continued to deteriorate. Despite undergoing multiple procedures and fighting with all he had, his body grew weak... and eventually his soul grew weary. He just wanted to come home and be surrounded by love in his final days.

Doug was only 57. Loved old cars and fixing them up. He lived with heart and brought laughter wherever he went. I will deeply miss his humor and the light he brought to everyone around him.

This fundraiser is to support his beloved wife, Sherri, as she faces the unimaginable - the loss of her soul mate and best friend. Sherri is lost without him. They were together for 15 beautiful years and just days away from their 11th wedding anniversary this month.

Noone is ever ready to say goodbye, especially under these circumstances. I'm asking for your help to cover Doug's cremation costs and assist Sherri with immediate household eexpenses as she navigates this heartbreaking chapter.
