My name is Sherri, and I am reaching out for help as I face a very difficult time in my life. In 2023, I suffered my second heart attack while working as a convenience store manager—a job that was both demanding and stressful. Then, in November 2025, I experienced another serious heart event. I don’t remember much from that day, only waking up in the ER. The doctors decided to implant a device under my skin to monitor my heart rhythm, and since then, my health has made it impossible for me to return to a normal job.
I am 62 years old and currently rent a room with no lease. I have no car, and while my roommate has kindly let me use her car for Instacart deliveries, it hasn’t provided the income I hoped for. I am in the process of applying for disability, but I understand that can take at least six months. I have reached out to many agencies for help, but so far, the assistance has been minimal. I am doing my best to stay positive and find a way forward, but right now, I am struggling to cover my most basic needs.
The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward my rent, which is my most urgent need. If there is anything left after rent, I will use it for food and utilities while I wait for disability assistance. I am truly grateful for any support you can offer—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing my story. Your kindness can help me get through this challenging time and work toward a more stable future.
