Our hearts are heavy, but we’re incredibly grateful to still have Sherline Stewart and her great-grandson Hendrix Lee with us after a devastating house fire destroyed everything they own.
The fire broke out unexpectedly, tearing through Sherline’s home and leaving behind nothing but ashes and heartbreak. But in the middle of this tragedy, a hero emerged — 5-year-old Hendrix.
When Hendrix saw smoke and flames, he didn’t panic. He called 911. His quick thinking and bravery saved both his and his great-grandmother’s lives. He is a true little hero, and we are so proud of him.
Now, Sherline and Hendrix are left with:
No home
No clothing or personal belongings
No way to recover on their own
The home owners insurance policy was recently canceled after Sherline was taken advantage of by a fraudulent contractor claiming she had asbestos in the home.
Sherline is a kind and loving woman living on a fixed income. Rebuilding from this is more than she can bear alone — and that’s why we’re turning to our community.
All donations will go directly toward:
Emergency housing
Clothing and daily essentials
Replacing lost belongings
Helping them begin the long process of rebuilding
We’ve included photos to show the impact — one of Hendrix smiling in front of the charred remains of their porch, and another of the fire as it engulfed the home.
Please consider donating or sharing their story. Every bit helps. Let’s rally around Sherline and Hendrix and give them hope and support when they need it most.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. ❤️
