HELP SHERIN PAY FOR HER LIFE SAVING SURGERY

I’ve always shied away from seeking help. But now I am desperate for your help!

I have to undergo an EMERGENCY SURGERY as determined by my hospital for the removal of my Para-thyroid gland as this is extremely life critical and I AM RUNNING OUT OF TIME. My health insurance company has refused to cover my bills; by taking my symptoms such as “headache” as a reasoning towards the refusal of covering my bills deeming the diagnosis as a pre-existing condition. Even though my previous health records state that the current diagnosis was not a pre-existing condition. Until and unless I pay all my medical bills, the hospital cannot facilitate the surgery.

2 months back I was rushed to the ED after I suddenly became unwell. My blood sugar and BP dropped immensely. The doctors admitted me to run multiple tests to find out what had happened to me. As a result of the tests, I am diagnosed with Hyperparathyroidism (which means a Tumor on my Parathyroid glands is making it hyper-active), Hypokalaemia (potassium deficiency), and Hypophosphatemia (Phosphate deficiency). I need to undergo surgery immediately. My life is at risk and I am sincerely seeking financial support.

Nothing has been the same since then. I have lost 15kgs, my PTH is high which is increasing the calcium levels in my blood and body. This is affecting my everyday life. Body aches, no appetite, feeling fatigue and checking my BP and pulse rate has become a daily routine. This is putting me at risk of getting heart-related issues, kidney failure, weakening of bones and lower immunity.

I am the second child to my parents. For most of my life my Mom was the main bread earner of the family. But our lives changed entirely in 2019 when I lost my elder brother. 

Losing my brother broke my family, my father fell into depression and my mother had to quit her job. Since then, the whole family’s expectations and responsibilities fell onto me at the age of 16. Due to this incident, I had to learn to be strong and find means to support my parents. I wanted to prove everybody wrong who spoke ill of us.

I approached every opportunity amidst the difficulties and the loss I suffered. I understood that it is my responsibility for how my parents and my life could turn out to be. So, I chose not to give up and started working hard to finish my studies. I Graduated with distinction and landed a merit scholarship for my Masters at Curtin University in Perth, Australia.

I strived for 6 months (due to my weak financial profile) all by myself to get all the documentation and processes completed as part of my admission and education loan for the Masters course. Most importantly I did a visa medical checkup and a separate health checkup to make sure healthwise I was in the clear.

Shortly after arriving in Perth (1 month) my health started deteriorating. That’s when all the issues with my health began. It’s been a struggle ever since then to lead a normal life.
