Sherie James (Cigar-James) is my son’s preschool teacher and the heart behind a trusted in-home daycare and preschool. She is the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need, always within her means and always with love. Recently, Sherie’s van, her only mode of transportation, unexpectedly broke down and is not fixable. She has been able to borrow a car for a few days, but she is currently without reliable transportation on weekends and does not have a long-term solution. For someone who runs an in-home daycare, transports children, shops for supplies, and supports a full household, a dependable vehicle is essential.

Sherie has devoted her life to caring for children. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership and Instructional Studies and brings over 21 years of experience caring for toddlers and preschoolers. This includes 11 years working with toddlers with autism and social and emotional disorders and 17 years of experience caring for infants, including those with special needs. She has also worked as a student teacher, substitute teacher, coach, and volunteer in schools across the Los Angeles area.

Beyond her professional work, Sherie is a devoted caregiver for four children, one of whom is her nephew. She believes every child is a gift to be treasured and developed, and she has always gone out of her way to keep her rates reasonable for families, often putting others before herself.

This fundraiser is our way of rallying around someone who has given so much to our kiddos and our community. Funds raised will help Sherie replace her van so she can regain stability, continue caring for the children who depend on her, and support her own family without this added burden. Any amount helps, and sharing this page means just as much. Thank you for supporting Sherie and helping her continue to do what she does best, care for children with heart, patience, and dedication.
