Help Sheridan teach English in Ecuador :)

Hi! I'm Sheridan and I'm a Kindergarten English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher in Minneapolis, MN! As an ESL teacher, my job is to help students whose native language is not English in developing their English language proficiency and to aid them in becoming effective communicators. I am currently working towards obtaining my Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at Hamline University. I am finishing the first half of my student teaching here in Minneapolis, where many of my students are Ecuadorian. I quickly became very interested in knowing more about Ecuadorian culture and where my students and their families are from. Because of this, I have chosen to complete the second half of my student teaching in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, so that I can immerse myself in their culture, a native language that is different than my own, meet the incredible native people of Ecuador, and to experience all that comes with living in a beautiful, historic city within the Andes Mountains. I will be teaching and living in Ecuador for 2 months (Oct. 27-Dec. 16) unpaid, which is never easy while student teaching in general, but especially when having to purchase expensive airline tickets, the appropriate items needed to live at a very high altitude, and paying to live somewhere without a source of income. If you feel it in your heart to help me in raising some funds to help with this trip of a lifetime, I would be forever grateful. I can't wait to learn all about Ecuadorian culture and use this newfound knowledge to become a culturally responsive educator for the children I teach. Thank you so much in advance!
