Our sweet Shenzi, one of the animals at HumaneCNY, is suffering from a painful and disabling skin condition. Shenzi came to HumaneCNY over six months ago suffering from mange, malnourished, and with nails inches long. Since then, her mange has cleared up, she’s filled out and has received a ton of love and care thanks to her human friends- However, an unknown skin condition still lingers, and when it flares up our Shenzi May is incredibly uncomfortable, itching until she bleeds, green goop in her ears and eyes and more. 

Volunteers had allergy testing done that revealed that Shenzi does have certain intolerances, but even eliminating those has not been enough and we have been advised to seek out additional testing to get to the root cause of Shenzi’s pain.

Yesterday Dr. Bailey took a look at her and determined that Shenzi needs attention and treatment ASAP. Dr. Bailey got right on it and set up Shenzi’s first appointment at Cornell for this morning. We are so grateful to Dr. Bailey for her abundant attentiveness, concern, and generosity. Now we are in need of your donations in order to pay for appointments and the inevitable treatment that Shenzi will need.
