My name is Jelena and I am launching this fundraiser to support WagWag, an animal welfare organization based in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I am personally from Bosnia and worked with WagWag before, and I have seen firsthand the challenges faced by animals living in local shelters. Public shelters in Bosnia operate with extremely limited resources, and many dogs spend their entire days inside enclosed kennel spaces without any access to the outdoors.

Today, dozens of dogs at the city shelter in Banja Luka live in an adapted warehouse that has been divided into indoor kennels. Although they are safe and cared for, they currently have no possibility to step outside, feel the sun, breathe fresh air, or simply lie on the grass.

That is why WagWag has launched a project to build outdoor sections connected directly to the existing kennels.

The goal is simple but life-changing: every indoor kennel should have its own secure outdoor area, allowing the dogs to move freely between their indoor space and the outside environment whenever possible.

These outdoor enclosures will give shelter dogs something they currently do not have:

Daily access to fresh air and natural sunlight.

More space to move, play, and explore.

Better physical health and stronger muscles.

Reduced stress, anxiety, and frustration.

A more humane and dignified life while they wait for adoption.

What Has Already Been Accomplished

Thanks to previous donations and the dedication of WagWag volunteers, seven outdoor kennel sections have already been built at the shelter.

The difference has been enormous. Dogs who once spent all their time inside can now enjoy the outdoors, rest in the sun, and experience a much better quality of life.

However, many dogs are still waiting.

This fundraiser will help WagWag continue building outdoor areas so that every kennel can eventually provide access to the outside.

WagWag is an organization committed to creating long-term improvements for animals in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Together with supporters, volunteers, and donors, the organization has already:

Built seven outdoor kennel sections for shelter dogs.

Sterilized approximately 600 street cats, preventing the birth of thousands of unwanted kittens.

Created the Cat Hotels project, which now operates in several cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Led initiatives promoting transparency in animal shelters and advocating for better animal welfare standards.

Developed educational and community projects focused on protecting animals.
