Hello, my name is Alexi, and I am a close friend of Shelly and her family. I am helping share her story during an incredibly heartbreaking time.
Just two days ago, Shelly lost her husband of 49 years to a difficult and lengthy illness. On the very day that he was placed on hospice, Shelly received devastating news- a letter stating that their home is going into foreclosure.
Over the past year, their family has faced overwhelming financial hardship. Since then, they have been struggling to stay afloat while also dealing with serious health issues. Shelly herself is unable to work due to her own medical conditions.
Their home is not just a house- it is where Shelly lives, where her one child lives, and where she helps care for her three grand-babies. It is one place of stability for a family already facing profound loss.
Shelly is grieving her husband while also facing the possibility of the home that they shared together. No one should ever have to endure this much all at once.
Funds raised will go directly toward stopping the foreclosure, catching up on mortgage payments, and helping Shelly and her kids remain in the home while she navigates this unimaginable season of loss and healing.
If you are able to donate, share, or keep this family in your thoughts and prayers, it would mean more than words can express. Thank you for taking the time to read Shelly's story and for any support you can offer.
Below is the obituary of James(Jimmy) that you can read to put some light on how amazing of a person he truly was.
