Help Shelly Heal After Back Surgery
Donation protected
Hello friends, my name is Kayli Trujillo and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my dear friend and co-worker, Shelly. We know that hairstylists work tirelessly to help others feel beautiful, and it takes a toll on our bodies. She has had a very serious surgery that has kept her out of work for much longer than anticipated. Needless to say, the longer she is out of work the harder it is to catch up. Please read her story, and if you empathize or can donate, anything would help. Shelly is a very selfless member of our community. She is an active member of her church; she helps everyone when they need it, not to mention being a very caring stylist and giving her all to every one of her clients.
Hairstylists ironically do not like asking for help, even though it is our job to help others and it calls to us. She will benefit from anything anyone feels they can give. Below is what she has had to unfortunately go through and why she doesn’t know when she can return to work:
In August of this year Shelly had a flare-up of back pain. She did physical therapy to no avail. Then in September, she woke up with pain so bad she needed to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. Within one month of hospital stay, she had back surgery. She had a non-invasive microdiscectomy, but recovery has been slow and almost not progressive at all. Even last night, she had a huge relapse in pain. The herniation had lodged in her sciatic nerve, damaging the nerves all the way down her left leg. She still does not have feeling or strength in most of her leg or foot. And again it goes without saying, she cannot work and is still actively recovering. I know times are tough and it’s the holidays but being out of work for the unforseeable future is taking its toll and any help would be so appreciated.
