Help Shelly focus on her long road to recovery
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Dani (or if you’ve heard Shelly talk about Bubba that’s me!) and I’m her baby sister.
Shelly was found unresponsive by her daughter, Courtney, yesterday morning. Test showed she had a ruptured brain aneurysm and she was taken by helicopter to UW-Madison hospital. Surgery went well but she is not out of the woods yet. She will be hospitalized for at least 14 days with a LONG road of recovery ahead of herafter that.
If you know my sister, or have even just met her once or twice, you know she gives selflessly. She always told me to give to others even if you don’t have much because there are people that have less than you.
If she baked pies, neighbors, family and friends got them too. If it was the start of the school year, backpacks full of supplies were donated to the school to help families that couldn’t afford them. Your kid needs a place to live, her door is always open. Even when she didn’t have it, she found a way to make it happen her kindness didn’t stop there.
Shelly was injured at work a few years ago and hasn’t been able to work full time since. She took odd jobs to put food on the table and to make sure her mortgage got paid. She never asked for anything. I can’t even begin to imagine how much these medical bills will cost her or the stress she will feel as they start coming.
That’s why I’m asking if my beautiful sister (or as Emery knows her-Grandma Punkin) ever impacted your life in any way, please take this opportunity to give a little something back to her! We appreciate all the prayers , love and support as she begins her road to recovery.
