Hi, my name is Shellie. My daughter is named Alexis and is 17 years old. She has been in the hospital since May 18. She came in by EMS for kidney stones and had a severe kidney infection and blockage as well as sepsis. The doctor said she was almost in septic shock. She has multiple complications and is in the pediatric intensive care unit. She has had fluid overload, hypoxia respiratory failure, pulmonary edema, a blood transfusion, blood clots through both arms, 4 surgeries, an abscess in her kidney, a cute pancreatitis, a tube in her kidney, a pneumothorax, a collapsed lung and now a chest tube, as well as some other issues. Even the doctors can not believe everything that has happened. It has been a nightmare we can not wake up from. Due to this situation, neither one of us is working. I have no money coming in and my bills are not getting paid. I’m worried about the bills and what I’m going to do. I need me sole focus to be on her and her recovery. If anyone is able to help during this horrific situation, I would be forever grateful. I need to be at the hospital with my child and I am feeling very lost about paying rent, gas, lights and the ever mounting medical bills etc. it is very expensive for parking and food. Please if you can help at all, I would be so grateful.
