2020 has been a challenging year for most of us, but it’s been unbelievably hard for my sister, Shellie.  As a dental hygienist, she was one of the first to suffer job suspension due to the pandemic.  A clogged and inefficient unemployment system then left her without income for more than 5 weeks.   As the practice reopened, she received a 3 minute call from the dentist she had faithfully served for 25 years to tell her she was being“let go in favor of restructuring.”  That same week, she discovered she has breast cancer.  
She’s now post surgery and awaiting radiation and hormone therapy.  We’re praying that she and her children will not have to walk this path alone as she’s in CT, and the rest of us are in FL - 2 states with mutual mandatory travel quarantines in place.
