On September 4, 2025, Shelley Buckner and Steve Shoemaker faced the unimaginable — the loss of their beloved son, Grant William Sartin, at only 24 years old.
Grant was a kind, bright, and compassionate young man who touched countless lives through his faith, friendship, and service to others. He graduated from Tennessee Tech University with honors and had begun a promising career as an accountant, most recently with Brown, Jacobs & McDaniel.
Outside of work, Grant loved mentoring youth — serving as a youth leader and volunteer coach at his church and at Lenoir City High School. He was a devoted UT Vols and Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed playing golf with friends.
Although the funeral has already taken place, Shelley and Steve have been left with $7500 in funeral and burial expenses that insurance would not cover due to the circumstances of his passing. This unexpected financial strain has added to an already heartbreaking time.
We’re reaching out to friends, family, and our community to help ease this burden and show love and support for this grieving family. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward paying these final expenses.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Shelley, Steve, and their loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion, generosity, and love during this difficult time.
️ In loving memory of Grant William Sartin (2000 – 2025)
