My husband of 46 years, Jay Cormier, succumbed to Alzheimer's and cancer on July 18th, 2026. Jay was a brilliant and talented self-taught musician whose love for his Cajun roots and Louisiana provided a wonderful, amazing life for our family. He filled our home with music, laughter, and warmth, and his passion for his heritage touched everyone who knew him.

Throughout Jay’s illness, I did everything I could to care for him, alongside our daughter Anmarie. We faced countless challenges, from doctor appointments and hospital stays to the heartbreak of memory loss and the exhausting cycle of cancer treatments. Despite our best efforts, the financial strain became overwhelming, and now, with Jay gone, I am left with mounting bills and the difficult task of planning his funeral. Sadly, Jay did not have life insurance, which has made this time even more stressful and uncertain.
