Sheldon Steinbach is in his third-year journey with cancer and we can help our friend and young Dad stay strong in his fight. As a hubby to Simone and Dad to Satiya (6), Symphony (4) and Solaris (1) Sheldon has a lot of responsibility, but couldn’t have prepared for the challenges that a multi-year long struggle with cancer present.

Sheldon is a box lacrosse warrior who once climbed the CN Tower to help raise money for wildlife, but this time it’s his young family that needs our help climbing out of the financial stress that not being able to work has saddled them with. Each year from 2012-2018 Sheldon raised money for the PUSH FOR THE CURE ONTARIO. A 3 day, 153 km push event from Toronto, ON to Niagara Falls, ON to support and increase awareness of breast cancer research and in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

How Can We Help?

Sheldon and his family quietly received a cancer diagnosis in August of 2020. The tumour was surgically removed and we thought he was in the clear. Unfortunately, in January of 2023 it was confirmed that he is positive for cancer in the lymph nodes - recurring testicular cancer. If everything goes as well as possible Sheldon’s 9 weeks of chemotherapy will be enough, but his young family will struggle with Dad not working. He is close with his family, but Sheldon and Simone recently relocated to Nova Scotia, and so their support network will be upending their lives to ensure they can help.

The truth is that Sheldon is not the kind of person to ask for help, he prefers to be the one helping, but let’s do our part to get Sheldon back on his feet so he can get back to being the one who lends a hand to others.

With the cost of living rising, helping this young family reach their goal of $15,000 will just cover the costs of a few months of rent, bills, and humble basic expenses like food and diapers for baby Solaris.

Any additional funds will help with transportation and parking costs during treatment.
