My name is Sheldon Quick, and I’m raising funds to recover and relocate after an apartment fire. I am a father, a musician, an educator, a creative, and on Friday May 15th, my apartment caught fire due to an electrical incident and I suffered significant loss. The apartment is uninhabitable so I’m displaced, staying with family and friends, all while bracing myself to pay expenses necessary to regain a sense of home/stability.

The funding is to help cover loss, and to aid in the relocation process. As it stands, I’ve lost some music/recording equipment(monitors. Cables. Studio headphones), bedding, furniture, ALL of my kitchen items (as that’s where the fire started), basic clothing items, etc. I’m paying for the cost of restoring clothes at dry cleaners that are covered in soot/smoke. Replacing toiletries. I've thrown out my son's bedding and his toys, games. etc. I’m still discovering DAILY things that were destroyed. Drivers license. Cards. Headphones. Work Laptop and other electronics. There are also some costly legal fees that I'm unable to disclose details to at the moment. As for offsetting costs associated with relocation, I'm funding a storage unit, movers or help, the costs of procuring a new apartment, and the nuances wherein.

Assessing the loss is taking some time still, but starting the fund raising sooner than later is essential to getting this behind me as quickly as possible. So, thanks in advance for your contribution to this rebuilding process.
